On Grid
Solar systems that synchronize with power supplied by a utility are known as “on-grid” or “grid-tie” systems. Usually, on-grid solar systems produce power during the day, and an inverter synchronizes this power with utility energy. Solar energy is used first, and any additional power is drawn from the utility. At night, the utility supplies 100% of your power.
